California Dreamin'

Things sure have been busy since I wrote last. Mom and Dad went on vacation to California and left me and Ollie at Grandma's and Grandpa's (note: this is not a complaint about where we DID get to go, but rather a complaint that we DIDN'T get to go with them...we LOVE it at the grandparent's!)

Finnegan went to some place that they call CAMP. I don't know what CAMP is, but he had a great time there and came back so exausted that he slept for days!

Here is Finney with that exhausted look on his face...

Here is Finney showing how tired he is...

And here he is passed out. Take a good look because this is about as still as you'll ever see him!!!

Pretty cool to have an exhausted little WFT brother. He was even too tired to show off for mom, so I got a lot of lap time when they came home.

Mom and Dad said they had a great time in California. I watched the weather everyday and know it rained there a bit, but they said despite some wet days, they enjoyed the warmth and had a great time.

Here is one of the spots where they spent some time...

Doesn't it look wonderful? It is Carlsbad.

Here's another...it is LaJolla...

Then the worst thing ever...Mom and dad tooks these pictures to humiliate me...

Here I am lying on the sofa minding my own business...

And then here is this poor critter in LaJolla that Mom and Dad took a picture of- they called him the "Mackie Seal"...

And if that weren't bad enough- they compared this humiliating shot of me...

to this...

And just think- I was excited that they came home....fooey...

you are way cuter than those seals. La Jolla is cool. There is even a special place for doggies to go and swim. Next time, smuggle your little self aboard

How humiliating those pictures must be for you, Mackie, but it does look like your parents had a relaxing time!
Poor Finney! What did they make him do at camp to tire him out so much?!

Love ya lots,

It looks like your pawrents had a great vacation! Everybody needs a little vacation, sometime. Our mom and dad could use one right now after 5 days with our new big, baby brother. We're glad they came home to you safely!

It just shows that your folks were thinking about you while they were in California, I guess. :)

Mackie,

I heard you are looking for dog biscuit recipes and while I did not help make the biscuits in these recipes (no opposing thumb), I sure had the right parts to eat 'em. Yum, Yum.

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits
3 Cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 Cup peanut butter
1 Cup skim milk

mix, knead and roll on floured surface...cut out shapes. Bake at 375 degrees for 18-20 minutes. Watch for degree of browness. Cool and hide from doggies.

Aunt Ducky Dog Biscuits

3 Cups whole wheat flour
1/3 Cup Margarine
1/2 Cup powdered milk
1 Cup Hot water or beef broth (we use the broth)
1 egg beaten
1/2 tsp. salt

Soften margarine and add hot broth, beat with mixer. Add powdered milk, egg and salt.Mix & Add flour 1/2 cup at time. Form into ball, knead, adding more flour to stiffen if necessary. Roll out dough, cut out biscuits. Bake on greased pans at 325 degrees for 50 minutes depending on thickness of cutouts.

Ya gotta taste these babies, Mackie....I hope this helps.

Wiry hugs,
Asta Marie

Mackie boy!

Sometimes you just have to HUMOR THE HOOMANS! They all think they're funny!

I must say, though, that your belly shot is mighty cute ~ at least my hooman girl thinks so!

Goober love,
Stanley
