It's My Birfday!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to tell you all how excited I am about my birfday today! I'm 9 years old today and my mom is so happy about how happy and healthy and young acting I am. Mom promised that tonight I get to go to dinner with she and dad and then to Petsmart to pick out my birthday presents and then the very best part...I get to go get ice cream.
I'll post pictures tomorrow! AFTER ice cream! YUMMY!!!

Prayers for the sick and for those who have left us...

We have recently lost two good WFT friends, Einstein was a true gentleman who lived in NC with his mom and dad and little sister Missy Pearl. Missy Peral was a puppy that mommy was taking in to foster and she never made it here because her mommy, Kate met her while transporting her and asked my mommy if she could adopt her right then and there! So Einstain lived out his days with a sweet little sister.
We've also lost Terrence, or T-Boy who was Jennie Bear's WFT and a loved one at that. Terrance was not even 7 years old and suddenly became ill and when rushed to the vet, it seemed he had a form of cancer that moved quickly and took his life.
We are sending prayers for Terrence and Einstein and their families. It makes mommy so sad to know what they are going through.
Now I have to ask you to put on your prayer hats or whatever people do to pray and help us pray for my dear friend Snickers who is gravely ill. We also want you to join us in taking part of a Worldwide Moment for Snickers. See more info below from Jake and Miss Fergi who have organized this moment for Snickers.....

As you may know

Miss Snickers is struggling

Mightily

Along with her family.

(The best place to keep up with updates

is Gussie’s blog.)

Last night looked as if it might have been her last.

This morning she rebounded with improved symptoms.

She is far from out of the woods

But she and her family

Including her gentle and loving brother Butchy

Have been granted another day.

We can’t help but believe

that part of the improvement is because of

The support and love that have surrounded her

From all around the world

Thanks to the linked paws

Of her blogging friends.

The Power of the Paw

We are asking everyone to set your alarms

And at exactly 11:00 PM GMT on Saturday 14 Nov 09

(Go to this link to find what time that is for you)

5:00 PM Saturday evening in Iowa

as Snickers' family sits down to eat

Turn toward them (in the central USA)

And join together in a silent minute

Of prayer, meditation, contemplation, reflection

Whatever feels right to you.

Followed by whatever means of communication

You choose.

Arrooing

Barking

Howling

Yipping

Yapping

Wooing

Meowing

Mewing

Purring

To wish and send Miss Snickers and her family

whatever is in your hearts

That will help them feel the Love and Support

They need right now.

Personally, we’ll be praying for a Miracle.

Then

Blow a Kiss

and send your Love and Prayers and Best Wishes

to Miss Snickers and her Family

and they will feel their arrival

in the breeze.

OK?

We believe it will help.

And we'll do anything in our power right now

To help.

Love,

Jake, Fergi, MomaSally and NinaGirl

We are so close, but still not there...

Mommy has been working to get two wire fox terriers up to Maryland from an AL shelter. She was able to get one of them moved on the 25th..."JJ" is safe despite being fairly underweight and the vet considered him severly dehydrated.
Anyway, she has transport for the remainng dog, "Foxy" this Thursday if she can get him from Tuscaloosa to Atlanta. He has a ride out of Tuscaloosa, but still need help with the leg half way out from Tuscaloosa into Atlanta. He needs to be there Thursday to catch a ride on this transport north to get into foster and so we can find him a new home.
If any of you or someone you know can help, please let me know...wiredformackie@yahoo.com...."Foxy" really needs help and we are so close to getting him...

Finnegan is fat?

Sunday mom and Dad took Ollie and I to grandma and grandpa's and headed off with Finnegan to Pennsylvania to see the Montgomery Kennel Club all terrier show. Mom raves about this thing all year long...it's kinda annoying- mostly because I never get to go. Mom always says something like "There are hundreds of dogs there and you aren't friendly"...sheez...how rude.

Finnegan gets to go every year because he's "friendly" and his breeders are there. I have to say I find myself flat out laughing my head off about this year's report. Most of you know that I'm a big boy, right? I'm pushing 40 lbs...that's right---just more of me to love. I was always a big boy but with the predinosne every other day, I really got big.

Anyway, Mom and Dad took Finney to the show and both of his breeders said he's fat! Heheheehheheh! HE'S FAT!!! I rolled around laughing when I heard this! Mom was less than thrilled... Finney is about 25 lbs and pretty tall for a wire but I've never thought of him as fat. Anyway, mom says that Finney and I are going to have to get back to doing the long walks with her...it's good for her too as she could loose some too--hehehehe!

Here is Finney enjoying the show.
video

Mom and Dad and Finney got to meet a lot of wires and their people- Vicki with Samson the Agility wire- Lucia Hackett with Bella the beautiful show dog who was headed off to earth dog the following day, a nice souple with Megan the ginger little girl, Dot and her hubby and Crystal, got to see Kathy Barger who has Lucy (although Lucy wasn't there) and many more. They got to meet some of the rescue adopters and got to see Finnegan's breeder, Mary Raggett who had Finney's mom and Cara and Mike from Dalriada who has Finney's dad. It was really a nice day and mom and dad and Finnegan came home really tired....wish I could go....I would have gotten a kick out of them telling mom that Finnegan is fat! heheheheeh! Made my week...

RIP Dear Traveler

Yesterday morning I lost my cousin, Traveler as he passed over the rainbow bridge. He was my Aunt Michelle's beloved nine-year old golden retriever.

Mommy got a call a bit after 7am saying Aunt Michelle was taking him in to the vet and that he wasn't doing well. Traveler had been having trouble for a year or so now and a battery of tests where inconclusive. In the end, seems he had an abdominal tumor and it ruptured yesterday morning. He was certainly uncomfortable and there were no options for him.

Traveler was the light of her life and quite literally her rock. She got him while she was doing travel nursing, thus his name, and he went everywhere with her. Here is a picture of Aunt Michelle giving Traveler a kiss before he goes to the bridge- actually all these pictures are of Traveler yesterday.

Traveler was the consumate golden retriever. Always friendly and happy, greeting you at the door with a ball, or two or even three in his mouth excited to see you and waiting for you to throw it. He was a gentle, kind soul.

They waited to let him go until Mommy got to the clinic to say goodbye to this dear wonderful boy.

Please say a prayer for him, and for my Aunt Michelle. She has had a difficult life, but I don't think she's ever known grief like this. Our family will certainly miss him.

May God greet him warmly.

Update

Just wanted to let you all know that Mom and Dad made it home okay from California. It's taken mom a whole week to get back on schedule, she keeps saying something about getting old...

anyway, she has spoken to Cathy and seems baby boy Cecil is doing really well. He's getting around well and the vet says his eyes look great! She takes him for rides since it is his favorite thing to do and has built a ramp along side her bed so he can easily get up there to sleep with her. Sounds spoiled, right? Yup! That's just what we wanted! heheheh!

Mom and Dad said to thank you all again for all the wonderful support you gave with Cecil. You all are the bestest!!

Now, I wanted to tell you about a dog in Austin that needs a new home. She is a young 9 year old smooth fox terrier. She is a retired champion and is a beautiful girl.

Isn't she a beauty? Here's another...

Jet is healthy, up to date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative, is on heartworm and flea preventative, and is microchipped. She is a lovely, affectionate girl who wants nothing more than to be close to you and lay in your lap. This little girl really deserves a great home. Jet is housetrained (doggy door) and gets along well with other dogs.

If you or someone you know may be interested in Jet, please email Julie at wftmomx2@yahoo.com ...please pass the word! This girl needs a home!

Jet is in Austin, TX but transport can be arranged for the right family!
