Just say NO!

I'm sure you remember the "Just say NO!" campaign, right? Well, I think my momma needs to be reminded of it. She has put me back on drugs and I don't think it's fair.

The drug is called Clomicalm and it helps dogs with anxiety issues...that couldn't be me! I don't suffer from separation anxiety or anything, but I do stress myself out about stuff and then I get grouchy. Mom has been threatening to put me back on the stuff (I was on it several years ago...right after mom and dad adopted me and I was on it for over a YEAR!). Anyway- she's been threatening because she says I'm really grouchy again. I guess the last straw was biting dad on Saturday night. Yes, I admit, I'm a biter. I just can't help myself....I snap! But mom and dad are just too touchy!
Their answer to this is to drug me. (note from mom: Its not the "answer" Mackie, but it does help you understand what you are doing a bit better so we can strengthed your training and it makes you less grouchy).
So now I'm running a lot slower than usual and things seem to bother me a bit less (although I did growl at Dad last night because I thought he was going to make me go to bed and I didn't want to). I don't like drugs and I hope that mom and dad get over being so touchy soon!!

Hey Mackie. I think it's perfectly acceptable to grumble at your people every now and then. Maybe not chew on them, but grumble, sure! I do it when I'm lying on my humans' bed and they ask me to get up.

Hi Mackie! I know you don't like to be drugged, but it's probably for your own good! My mom drugged me one time to cut my toe nails. I went to sleep for 8 hours. Mom thought she killed me! She says if she ever has to do it again, she'll only give me 1/2 a pill. It was a nice long nap, but it scared the "you know what" out of Mom & Dad!

I tested that "no bite" rule at our house once when I was a pup. Man, that's a firm rule here, sheesh! Won't do that one again, even though Dad didn't need stitches. 'Nough said about that.

But grumpy and grumbly? Well, Cap does that all the time. I think he's the favorite. He gets away with everything when Mom's around.

Hey Mackie...Lacie growls ALL the time...but she only bites if you try to throw her out of the shower when she wants to take one which is everyday. Mumsie may have to put her on something around thunderstorms and such...when she gets really anxious, sometimes she seizes...she has to get worked up at the vetties for that.

As for the biting bit...hmm...well...um...yep..feels good doens't it to exercise those those choppers?? I refrain from doing it now cept during paw wiping time but Mumsie's so fast now I don't make contact...I try though. Nail trimming...muzzle time...it's just easier for both of us...i don't feel like my JOB is to bite. I fear I'm her 3rd fox terrier who's been known to take a chomp here and there. At least I'm predictable now, so we can avoid the situations. Enjoy the Clomicalm...sounds fun....

Hey Mackie,
Try to not bite my friend. Grumbling is understandable I grumble at them all the time but I don't think they'd go for me biting them.

Wirey hugs,
